Eunsook Jin, Ph.D. Associate Professor School Medical School Department Advanced Imaging Research Center | Internal Medicine Biography Eunsook S. Jin, PhD, is Assistant Professor at the advanced Imaging Research Center and Internal Medicine of UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Jin is interested in intermediary metabolism in vivo using multiple stable isotopes and NMR analysis. She uses isolated organ perfusion and intact animal models, and recruit human subjects to study metabolism in the liver, skeletal muscles or the heart. Her research interests are hepatic insulin resistance, hepatic oxidative stress, glucose-fat interaction, obesity, and type 2 diabetes. Most recently she is working on 13C asymmetry in blood glucose released from the liver given [U-13C3]glycerol to determine if the asymmetry is sensitive to hepatic oxidative stress and the pentose phosphate pathway and transaldolase activities in the liver.
